As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to move your chips safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon tactics to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to block the movement of the competitor, the competitor does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions hoping to boost your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game technique uses alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is commonly used when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
