As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his checkers, the Priming Game plan is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to prevent the activity of the competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to better your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic uses different tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is often utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
