Players use a number of tactics in the different stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game technique is to bring all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as quick as you can. This tactic concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with absolutely no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The ideal scenario to use this plan is when you think you might be able to move your own chips faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by its name, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you have established the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other checkers swiftly off the board. You should also have a clear plan when to back off and move the pieces that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when the opposition uses the same blocking technique.
