The objective of a Backgammon game is to move your pieces around the game board and get them from the game board faster than your opponent who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and how you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Enthusiasts use different tactics in the different parts of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game plan is to entice all your chips into your inner board and bear them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of shifting your pieces with little or no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your chips have moved beyond your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to block the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your chips quickly. As soon as you have established the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other pieces rapidly off the board. The player really should also have a good strategy when to withdraw and shift the chips that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opponent utilizes the same blocking strategy.
