As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your home board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you’ve successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of the opponent, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is generally used when you’re far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
