As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your chips safely around the board to your home board and at the same time your opposition moves their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a bad position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions hoping to better your chances of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is generally utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
