The objective of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and get them from the game board quicker than your opponent who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you can shift your chips is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and how you move your pieces are determined by your overall gambling techniques. Players use different tactics in the different stages of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The goal of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your chips into your home board and bear them off as quick as you could. This strategy concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with little or no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent’s pieces. The best time to use this technique is when you believe you can move your own checkers quicker than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have moved beyond your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Technique
The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block the opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips quickly. As soon as you have established the blockade for the opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can shift your other chips swiftly from the game board. You should also have a clear plan when to back off and move the chips that you employed for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
