As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and luck. The aim is to move your checkers carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent moves their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any activity of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he/she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, the competitor does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your pieces and roll the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to better your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game strategy relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently utilized when you’re far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
