As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to move your checkers carefully around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point 11 in your game board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, the competitor doesn’t even get to toss the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game plan uses alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is commonly utilized when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partially the result of the dice toss.
