As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The aim is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any activity of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your competitor, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game strategy uses seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is often used when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
